A medical option for specific situations
Most dental implants are placed under local anesthesia. In some situations, however, general anesthesia provides real comfort and safety benefits. It is then performed in the operating theatre of the Clinique du Parc in Lyon, with a dedicated anesthesia team. It is never a convenience option: the indication is carefully assessed by both the surgeon and the anesthesiologist.
Main indications
- complex or lengthy implant treatments;
- multiple procedures combined in a single operation;
- anxious or phobic patients for whom chair-side care is very difficult;
- major bone reconstructions;
- full-arch rehabilitations;
- situations where patient comfort and safety justify it, assessed case by case.
The patient pathway
- Surgical consultation with 3D imaging;
- Pre-anesthesia consultation (mandatory);
- Procedure in the operating theatre of the Clinique du Parc;
- Post-operative monitoring;
- Same-day discharge when outpatient care is possible.
